Happy Halloween!

Boo!

Did I scare you? I love Halloween! I realize now that it is all from my mom and dad. They LOVE it as much as I do. My mom has a sweet costume this year too. Anyway, I am Wonder Woman for Halloween this year. (It's kind of my go-to costume, but if the shoe fits, right?) There are so many resemblances between WW and myself already that it just makes sense! Haha. Joking. :)

We got miss P the cutest costume! She was a cupcake! We were going to do this for her last year, but we didn't really have any plans for All Hallows Eve so there wasn't a point in the costume. This year, we go it and she LOVES it. She holds the tunic part of the costume in her arms and says, "Oh, coot!" (cute).

We went to the tri-ward Trunk or Treat last friday and here are some pics!

We led her from car to car. She did okay when there weren't a lot of other kids at the car, but if it was crowded, she was a little overwhelmed. But she was so polite, she said 'thank you' (and the sign for it) after each time she got candy. What a little lady!

This Trunk was really clever. The elves had kidnapped Santa and tied him up! So funny!

She even held her own candy the whole time! Such a big girl!

This is our friend, Curtis. He works with Jordin and we hang out with him and his family a lot. He and his wife have 2 cute girls and another little baby girl that was born about 2 months ago. She is the lobster. So funny!

And this is Jordin's boss, Donald. He's so serious all the time.... :)

There were two Wonder Womans there that night!

After the trunk or treating, we had to check out our spoils! (Okay, P-cakes spoils but we definitely have been helping her eat all the goodies... and the apples were already there. No healthy things from trick or treating!) There was one chocolate piece that was wrapped as an eye ball. She was putting it where it belongs!

 Look at all that goodness!

BONUS! Here are some pics of our science project. Put milk in a dish then some drops of food coloring. Then take a toothpick and dip it in dish soap. When you dip the pick into the milk and colors the colors will push away from the soap on the toothpick. It makes a cool marbling effect.

All for now, but we are going to a Halloween party tonight so I'll probably get some more pics of that to put up!
Happy Halloween!!

Christmas Music in October?!?

So yesterday after church, I went into my bedroom to change into some comfy clothes and when I came into the living room Jordin was at the computer putting music on. What kind of music?? Christmas/church music! What?? Seriously?! He was all jazzed up for some Christmas music. 2 months early! Suffice it to say, I may be enduring 'the season' through the next three holidays! (Despite my growing-up rule of no Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving...) Silly Boy.

Here are some pics from Grandma Boyd's trip here a couple weeks ago.

The girls at Pasadena Beach. Since it's October, it was kind of on the chilly side--the water, not the weather-- but it didn't stop us from going twice within the two weeks that Jody was here!

Nana and P-cakes playing in the waves.

This was another beach experience that we had. This is Bolivar Peninsula. It was crazy stormy that day so the storm surge was crazy. We parked right near the sand bar, where as the last time we went we were another 30-40 feet down the beach. This time the waves came right up to the jeep! It was still fun.

Miss P has a thing for babies. EVERYTHING is a baby. These are the bottles of sunscreen that were her babies on the way home.

Can you believe how big she is?? I can't.

This is a 'nature walk' thing we did. I had to put this picture because Jody is summing up our experience here.... Mosquitos. EVERYWHERE.

After liberal amounts of bug spray, we were able to check it out a bit more. It was only kinda cool. The coolest 'nature' we saw was a turtle as we were leaving the parking lot. Oh well, the search continues for some nature, Boyd-style, here in Texas!

Miss Independent. Strollers are for wimps.

It was a fun couple of weeks!!

Up next for us this week?? First of all, the Trunk or Treat Party at the church where P-Cakes will be making an appearance as a cupcake, and mom as Wonder Woman! (Dad?? Who knows... :( The boy doesn't dig Halloween like mom and P-cakes!)

AND we're going camping this weekend at a pretty cool state park we found last weekend!
Stay Tuned!

These are worth a thousand words.

Here is some pics of miss cutie-pants from the last week or so.
When my parents had a huge garage sale a couple weeks back, they sent us some stuff from the house. Here is a bunny suit for P-Cakes.

Look at the cute little bunny tail!

One of her new things is to put shoes on. (She's my daughter, go figure.)

These are what happen when I let her loose with pudding...

She's so happy!

There are a lot of great parks here and this is one of my favorite. She loves it too!

This was originally my teddy bear that I got from my grandparents miller for Christmas one year. She has claim on it now!

The girl's got moves.

This one is from today. The girl's got moves so I tried to capture them on film. Her new trick is going in circles.

She loves music so much and she is developing quite the knack for dancing!

Hi Cheethus

Yesterday, working with P-cakes to say more sentences:

"Hi, ma."
"Hi, da."
(Then she looks at a picture of Jesus in our living room.)
"Hi, Cheethus." (With a wave, too!)

She's such a smarty pants!

Silliness and Pizzzzzzzaaaaaa

My kid is crazy. SO funny and I never know what she is going to come up with next!

Okay, first.
This has nothing to do with P-cakes but when we went to the Galleria mall in Houston last weekend, I had to get a pic of this Microsoft Store. It made me laugh. It unsuprisingly looked a lot like another popular computer company's stores. Copycats? Microsoft? Never... ahem.

 Okay, moving on.
Here is what P was doing earlier today when I was rearranging my NEW couches! This is a little car that she has.

Funny thing #1: She drives is backwards. She prefers to sit this way than the 'correct' way. But who says she has to follow the trends? :)
Funny thing #2: She pushes is backwards too! So the car will go the 'right' way, but she is looking the other. So silly.

On to the Pizza!

So I have been on this HUGE homemade pizza kick. We're talking about "making at least one once a week and then feasting on it for the next three days" kind of kick. It's delicious and I totally blame my friend Katie for getting me started. ;)

The only problem I have had is that I  have now mixed up the different pizza crust recipes and I can't remember which one was amazing and which one was blah.

Oops. I'll just have to make them again to figure it out!! Bwah haha!

I told you I'm obsessed.

Okay, so back to the point. I made the most delicious pizza EVER last night. I took the idea from the Pioneer Woman's website. (Who else do I get recipes from?? No one.)

Anywho, She had this recipe called Steakhouse Pizza:

Hello, Gorgeous.
Here's the link: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/09/steakhouse-pizza/

She did hers with steak and her layers were just a bit different than mine. So here is my version:

Pizza sauce with splashes of Balsamic (LOVE) and Worcestershire.

Then grill up an onion in butter and, again, Balsamic Vinegar.

Cook two chicken breasts in butter and generously splash red wine vinegar all over.

Oh, I cooked up some bacon too because that's how I woo my husband. ;)

Assemble: Sauce, Mozzarella, Onions, Bacon, Chicken, Drizzles of your favorite BBQ sauce, Chopped Green Onions, more cheesy Mozzarella.

This is my glorious pizza. Sorry it's already (and oddly) cut into. But I wanted to show you no matter how silly I chose to cut it into pieces! :)

It was SO good!! Yum! And if you made it all the way to the end of this post, congratulations and thank you for stickin' with me for so long.

It's been a while...

Hello! It's only been over 2 1/2 years since I last posted. Nothing really has changed between then and now... except most everything! :...
